Why should all children with atraumatic limping have a careful examination for lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly?

Because 11.6 percent of children diagnosed with leukemia in one study presented with a limp.

Laboratory findings demonstrated elevated ESR, anemia, thrombocytopenia and increased lymphocytes and blast cells.
