What are the indications for RhoGAM in the ED? The dose?

Indications:

Rh-negative mother with,

• threatened miscarriage
• spontaneous miscarriage

A dose of 50 microgram can be used if the patient is less than 12 weeks pregnant (although 300 micrograms is ok if that's all your pharmacy carries), otherwise 300 micrograms should be administered within 72 hours of sensitization. There are other indications for RhoGAM use (third trimester vaginal bleeding if no prophylactic dose at 28 weeks, significant uterine trauma), however in these situations the patient will almost always see an OB-Gyn physician within 24 hours and the medication can be administered then.
